Summer Tour

Looks like Rock-fest.com was told to take Tom Petty off the lineup on their website. It doesn't mean that they're not going to play. Granted that's a possibility, but I don't think it's the case. The Pittsburgh venue still has the band listed as a probable summer show and that other site is still selling tickets for Darien Lake. Plus, the person who originally told me about it, heard it from a Heartbreaker. And because I trust this person, I knew then it would happen.

That might not mean a damn thing to some of you. That's ok, "you believe what you wanna believe."

For those of you I've become pretty close with through email, etc., over the years, you know I don't post information without any justification. With something this important to the real fans of the music, that would not be funny. I consider myself a pretty good judge of what is funny. And believe it or not, I do know when to draw the line.

I love seeing this band live. It's probably my second favorite thing to do! I still plan on being at a show or two this summer. I hope in the almost six years I've kept this site going that I've earned some credibility and proven that I can back up what I say.

It's true, nothing has been made "official," but tickets may be sold out by the time it is! I just wanted the fans who have grown to trust me to get a heads up. Maybe share a little bit about what I know about this business with them, to make sure the people who want to see this great live band do.

I've learned that people aren't what they say, they're what they do. And people talk alot. I don't. If I take the time and breath to form the words, I mean them. Unless I'm being flat out sarcastic. And the best sarcasm always has a hint of truth in it.

If I'm wrong about this, I am deeply sorry. And I'll be the first to admit it. But, knowing what I do know about the industry, the proof is too strong. I still plan on seeing Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers this summer in a city or two.

You believe WHO you want to believe.

By the way, the Wisconsin date is still listed on Pollstar. And getting the information, basically, straight from a member of the band was official enough for me.
